About Coaching
YOU are the topic and the focus of the collaborative work we will do in our Life Coaching visits. You will establish our agenda.
- Confidentiality is an “ironclad” rule of practice for me…except in life threatening situation.
- Coaching is distinctly different from counseling or therapy. Coaching focuses on your current life situation and will be based on your thoughts and ideas of what you believe is the best choices for you. As a life coach, I am not in the business of telling you what you should do, I will simply guide you in exploring the many options a situation could present. You are the best person to know yourself and make decisions regarding youself.
- Depending on your goal for your Life Coaching visits, I will supply various additional tools for your benefit and understanding in the journey of knowing about your self more fully. I am a Qualified Administrator of the Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), as well as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the States of Kansas and Missouri.
- I will meet with you at a pre-arranged time either by phone or in person, if you live in the Greater Kansas City area, which ever is more convenient for you. If you can not keep a pre-scheduled appointment, I will make every effort to offer an alternative time which is acceptable to both of us.
- Calls between sessions will have no additional charge, provided the contacts are no more than two per month and for no longer than 10 minutes each.
- Emails are encouraged between sessions, if needed.
- A Life Coach is training to listen, observe and bring a individual approach to the client’s needs. All of the conversation occurs in an accepting, non-judgemental and supportive environment.
- Life Coaching usually works and is successful because of these three components:
- Relationship and trust developed between the individual and the Life Coach
- Collaboration is the key in both the individual and the Life Coach working together on the clients goals.
- Structure is a component of the Life Coaching relationship where a specific plan is developed to support you in meeting your goals.
